Confidentiality, Safety & Emergencies
Is what I share confidential?
Yes, confidentiality is maintained in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework. Disclosure only occurs under exceptional circumstances where there is an imminent risk of serious harm to yourself or others, or if legally required by a court order.
What happens if you are unexpectedly unable to work?
I have a Clinical Will in place with a trusted, BACP-registered colleague executor who would contact you to offer support and ethically manage session closures without client abandonment.
Is this a crisis service?
GEP Counselling is not an emergency service. If you require urgent assistance, please contact your GP, call NHS 111, phone The Samaritans at 116 123, or call 999 in an emergency.
